Sprouts are a symbol of life and therefore carry the essence of new life. This meal is great any time of year and is simple to make.  This recipe calls for soy bean sprouts but can be adjusted for other types of sprouts.

 

Sprout soup
Yields1 Serving
 4 cups of boiling water
 1 teaspoon of salt
 ½ teaspoon of mushroom seasoning
 1/2 tomato, diced
 1 cup of soy bean or mung bean sprouts
 Rice or mung bean noodles
 1 handful of chopped cilantro
 Drizzle of sesame oil

To the boiling water, add the soy bean sprouts, salt, mushroom seasoning and tomatoes. Mix well.

Add the mung bean noodles and allow to cook until tender.
(Typically 1-2 minutes)

Drizzle the sesame oil but do not stir.
Add the cilantro to top off the soup.

Tip: Rinse the soy bean sprouts prior to cooking.
