KATHRYN’S BARLEY SURPRISE

Cut back on waste while nourishing the body and saving energy. Add any leftovers to your bowl of barley.

Yields1 Serving
 1 Cup of rinsed Chinese barley
 5 Cups of boiling water
 Any left over fish, chicken, or beef
 Any left over vegetables

Add the barley to the boiling water.
Mix well, then lower to a simmer, partially cover and cook for 45 minutes.

Be aware of the water levels as you may need to add more water.

When the barley is done, add it to a personal sized bowl.
Top with leftovers for a hearty lunch.
