This breakfast cereal of Chinese barley, millet and mung beans is so good for your digestive system. The chili bamboo shoots, available in most Asian markets, will add a burst of flavor and is also good for digestion. Extra bonus - the spicy flavor supports the lung!

Yields1 Serving
 1/4 cup Chinese barley
 6 cups water
 1/8 teaspoon salt
 1/4 cup millet
 1/4 cup mung beans
 Chili bamboo shoots

Bring the barley, salt and water to a boil.

Lower the heat, partially cover the pot and slow boil for 25 minutes.

Add the mung beans and millet. Continue slow boil for another 25 minutes. Add boiling water if needed.

Place in bowls and garnish with the spicy bamboo shoots.
