NOURISHING BONE MARROW SOUP
This slow-cooker friendly recipe is perfect for boosting your Kidney’s health, the organ that is crucial for longevity for both men and women. According to Chinese Medicine, the bone is the body tissue matching the energetic frequency of the Kidney. Bone soup is beloved in many cultures as being one of the keys to long life and good health: the Chinese name for it is “Long Life Soup.”

6-8 cups of water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of mushroom seasoning
3 bone marrows (beef or lamb thigh bones can also be used)
2-3 Tablespoons of walnut oil or other vegetable oil
2 small potatoes cut in chunks
Handful of spinach
1 Tablespoon of wine
A pinch or two of cinnamon
Chopped green scallions or cilantro for garnish
Any other veggies you like (optional)
1Rinse bones and add to a pot of boiling water.
2Allow water to boil, then throw away broth and start again.
3Reboil for at least 1 hour.
5Add potatoes, wine and cinnamon.
6Allow mixture to boil then let simmer for at least 30 minutes.
7Add spinach and garnish with chopped scallions or cilantro, and serve hot!
8This recipe is also great to make in a slow-cooker crock pot.
