 5 cups of water
 1 cup of rinsed barley

Boil the water and add the barley.

Lower the flame to a simmer and let cook for about 15-20 minutes.

For a dryer consistency, allow the barley to cook longer

Creative options: Add your favorite topping like fruit, nuts, syrup, cinnamon, hot sauce or leftover vegetables.
