I have to avoid tomatoes. Do you have an alternative to suggest for this recipe. Thank you.
Sure. Cooking is fun when we can be flexible with ingredients. You can add peas, additional onions,cabbage chopped small and sauteed. I do suggest you add 1/4 cup of additional water or broth in step number 5 to compensate for the tomato water.
English isn’t my first language. My question is the recipe says 1/2 red pepper, chopped.. Is this Chili pepper of Red bell pepper.

No it’s a red bell pepper but a chili pepper would be a great additional spice.
