Heart Harmony Part 2: Use Love to Heal

In Part 1 of our series on Heart harmony, Grand Master Nan Lu encouraged us to think about someone or something that we love deeply, and to experience the physical feelings that love brings us—body, mind, and spirit. He then discussed the body’s ability to recall love on a deep cellular level and return to those feelings during times of sadness. In our second segment, we learn the overwhelming power of love and how to use love to heal.


Think back to when you were 5 years old. What do you remember? Was it your first ice cream cone or your grandmother’s hand on your shoulder? Maybe it was the face of the first friend you made in Kindergarten. While it may be just a passing feeling, it’s likely a warm and loving one.

What other memories do you hold onto? Some, like the ones from your early childhood, bring you back to sweeter, simpler times, and help you recall people or places that are no longer here with us. But others are painful and hold us back from living our lives to our fullest potential.

How is it possible that memories from so long ago could still be with us? Everything in life is energy. Love is energy. Whether visible or invisible, these memories become part of the fibers that make us who we are. Every cell in our bodies has a memory of love at the highest level. Tapping into that love helps us to access the King of all organs—the Heart.

Your heart allows you to go beyond your mind to connect to your Spirit. So use love. Let it help you open a pathway to your Heart.

Love can heal just about anything, including physical pain. What is your first inclination when you have a migraine headache or pain from arthritis? Probably to take an aspirin. Instead, close your eyes. Recall this feeling of love and use the power of this love to help you change your life. Send the love to your head to heal your migraine, or to your joints to heal your arthritis.

Love is infinity! Continue to grow it like the ocean waves. Use it to heal your hurts, your sadness, your physical pain, and to deepen your relationship with yourself. Replace your painful memories with warm memories of loving moments. Start to feel the pain and sadness drip away, and instead, replace that void with a loving smile.

Rather than focusing on negativity, spend the Summer caring for yourself. Let love and peacefulness in, and use love in everything you do. Spread love like wildfire around you. Soon, you will begin to feel your walls come down and your Heart begin to blossom.

But remember…

If you want to heal someone, you have to first heal yourself.

If you want to love someone, you have to first love yourself.

You only can give to someone what you have.

The more you have, the more you are able to give.
