Opening Doors With TCM: Tom’s Story

When people talk about TCM, they often focus on the symptoms and results. As a Medical Qigong practitioner and student of Master Lu for the past 20 years, I’ve seen remarkable results in my own life as well as with my patients. However the real miracle is not the immediate but the invisible results. Let me give you a for instance.

Recently an employee at my company came to work with a severe cold and fever. He complained that he been trying to get past this for several weeks. I spoke to him about my Medical Qigong practice and how it would help him. He agreed to receive a treatment. When the treatment was completed, he went home. While at home, he began to feel very tired and lay down to sleep. Several hours later he woke, completely soaked but with no symptoms of the cold or fever. He came to work the next day as if nothing had happened.

Now this sounds like a typical story, but what happened next is what really excited me. The young man confessed that he didn’t think the treatment would help. He was amazed at how quickly he recovered. He began asking questions about TCM and Qigong: What is it? How does it work? What else can it be used for? He shared with me that he has had issues with anger and has always looked for a way to control it. So I showed him how 5 Element Theory is used in TCM to address emotions. As luck would have it, the center was offering a 9-day Liver Cleanse (the organ directly associated with anger). He decided to sign up for the program.

When I see how simple treatment can lead someone down the path to self-healing and potentially to spiritual growth, I see the true miracle of TCM.
