Twenty-five years ago, I had my first experience of what the practice of Qigong can do. I had attended a spring group Qigong practice with Grand Master Lu. At the time, I was suffering with my annual, severe spring allergy symptoms—sneezing, itchy eyes, and more. I was taking my usual dose of over-the-counter medications, leaving me feeling drowsy and foggy. I essentially was trading one problem for another, and not getting better.
After the intensive Qigong practice, I felt I needed to stop the medication. For one week, my nose ran and my eyes teared. However, I just couldn’t bring myself to take more pills. Feeling miserable, I just continued my daily Qigong practice. After a week, I noticed that all allergy symptoms had disappeared! This was a totally unexpected benefit! The best part is, I am still allergy-free 25 years later.
