Allow a New Perspective to Help You Bloom

Many are familiar with the saying, “Bloom where you are planted.” In some ways, it’s very similar to “If you are given lemons, make lemonade.” In other words, make the best out of a given experience.

Throughout life, we are handed curve balls. Some are expected; others not so much. When we face certain situations in life, we have a choice to either accept them as they are, or to view them as gifts. As painful as certain circumstances may be, every moment is an opportunity to become better versions of ourselves. In this world we live in, violence and sadness are pervasive. It’s hard to turn on the news to see all that exists either close to home or around the globe, and not lose faith.

If you find yourself in a situation that is tough to crawl out from, change your angle. Look from a new perspective to find the good.

Living Life Upside Down

Have you thought about the amount of time we spend right-side-up? Our eyes are trained to focus on what is in front of us. Some are lucky enough to have developed extraordinary peripheral vision. Even so, our line of sight is very limited. And even if we were able to have a 360 degree view at all times, we would never be able to fully process all of the information the Universe provides. It’s simply impossible to see and experience all that life has to offer.

What if we changed our perspective and viewed life upside down? We’d still see the same mountain and city views as if looking “correctly”, yet somehow, those scenes would seem entirely different. We’d notice colors in the sky that we’d simply missed before. We’d see details in buildings, trees and clouds that we’d once overlooked. And our feeling would be different as well.

Changing our view not only gives us a new lens from which to view the world, but a chance to finally enjoy what has been in front of us the entire time.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

After taking in life from this new angle, turning right-side-up seems bizarre! Suddenly, the plants that towered above our noses now only graze our knees. But in remembering that experience, we bring clarity and insight into even the most confusing situations.

So, embrace where you are in your life right at this very moment, and take the opportunity to view it from every angle imaginable. Explore the extraordinary gifts you’ve been given and allow yourself room to bloom where you’ve been planted.
