86,400 Seconds

Each new morning, you are given a gift—a chance to bring joy, erase hatred, embark on an adventure, and breathe new life into your tried-and-true patterns. We often look at the bigger picture of life—what we complete or attain over the course of a year, a month, a week, or even a day. But have you ever thought about each passing moment?

You live 86,400 seconds every single day. How do you spend this time? What messages do you feed yourself and those around you? How many of those seconds are spent mindlessly surfing the web or running from one place to the next? How many of them are spent in anger, fear, or resentment?

Instead of trying to fill our days with “stuff”, imagine how it would be to spend more time delving within. Instead of holding onto emotions, imagine how it would be to release what no longer serves you. How much time would you gain back? How much more would you see? What beauty would you experience?

Seconds turn into minutes. Minutes turn into hours. Hours turn into days. But if those seconds are ours and ours alone, our lives become much fuller, our relationships—with ourselves and others—become much deeper, and we grow in unimaginable ways.

Perspective is everything.
