Your Power Center to Digestion
The Liver and Gallbladder, together with the Stomach and Spleen, make up the digestive system. Your strength and immunity rely on your Stomach and Spleen Qi and how well they function.
The Stomach and Spleen have two levels—physical, which relates to the organs themselves, and energetic, which relates to consciousness. The beauty of Chinese medicine is using Nature to find the Natural Law that applies to the human body. The same process can be used to understand the concept of digestion.
Stomach and Spleen are associated with the Earth element. The Earth nurtures and provides a stable foundation for all forms of life. Like Earth, the Stomach and Spleen nurture you, make moisture, promote growth and life, and transform energy. They have unconditional love as well as stillness and balance.
Since its formation, Earth has been processing and digesting. Everything living on this planet—viruses, bacteria, cells, molecules, body parts, organs, humans, Nature, animals, insects, plants, and more—is connected and has been for thousands of years. All life cooperates and continues no matter what events unfold.
Digestion Requires Cooperation
Cooperation is one of the most important requirements for digestion. Think of planet Earth as the most powerful organ that has been digesting, processing, and cooperating with humans, nature, seasons, weather, and viruses, and has existed alongside human life and health beyond recorded history. Our goal is to discover how to digest and process with this kind of power.
This wisdom is in Earth and inside each of us. How we can find the associations and frequency, and then connect and download the wisdom to upgrade our power? Genetically, each of us has been here for millions of years. We can digest a virus or illness using the information our body has already digested. We have this information and wisdom inside us, but we need to relearn how to access it.
By connecting to the Earth, we might be able to connect to the information center—the Earth element—where the processing and digesting of information is sorted. If we can unlock the wisdom of how to digest and process, we will be able to digest, process, avoid, or deal with things like viruses. It always comes down to cooperation.
A Shared Frequency and Wisdom
The Earth and Earth element share the consciousness of digesting, cooperating with, and processing anything and everything living on this planet. More deeply, the Earth knows how to digest everything about human life, from nature’s chaos to human chaos. The Stomach and Spleen function at the same frequency as the Earth Element. Through the Stomach and Spleen, our bodies share the same frequency and wisdom as the entire Earth.
Your Stomach and Spleen know how to digest problems, foods, and situations, and transform them into usable energy. That is one of the beautiful things about human beings. No matter what, they have the gift to digest, process, and transform anything and turn it to their advantage. To function at the highest level, we must connect to Earth consciousness.
What Do We Digest?
TCM views the digestive system as the first line of defense. You are what you eat, but even more so, you are what you think. Have you thought about everything you ask your body to digest? Your digestive system processes fear, aggravation, worry, excitement, anger, happiness, and more each day of your life, in addition to the foods you eat. If you have digestion issues, you cannot digest and process the information or feelings; they are stuck in your head. They are all energy.
In viewing the body from that perspective, it’s no wonder we become sluggish and experience digestive issues even before eating. Our bodies are telling us that information is stuck and they cannot smoothly digest the emotions and foods we’re putting in.
Two Ways to Acquire Energy: Food and Energy Practice
Food is the easiest way to acquire energy. We eat three meals a day, so we have continuous opportunities to provide our bodies with adequate energy sources. The foods we choose to eat have a tremendous impact on the way we feel. The Stomach loves warmth. Supporting your body with cooked vegetables, soups, and warming herbs and spices (ginger, cinnamon, pepper, turmeric) aids the body in digestion. Even on warm days, do your best to avoid cold drinks and raw salads as well as a steady diet of meat and dairy. Even when cooked, these foods carry a cold essence into the body.
In addition to food, you can acquire energy directly through energy practice. Energy exercises are different than physical exercises. Physical exercise does not give you energy. When you run or work out, you spend energy to please your mind and try to look good. You can use serious energy practices like Qigong, and some forms of meditation and yoga to receive energy directly. Without eating anything, many masters can still process and digest energy directly through their energy practice. Everything is energy.
