Your Body Is Speaking—Are You Listening?
Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a way to peer inside the body to understand the source of your troubles?
What if I told you that you do?
Stand in front of the mirror. Look intently at every part of your body, starting with the hair on your head. Work your way down to your toes. What do you see?
- Is your hair thin and dull?
- Are the whites of your eyes truly white? Does the skin around your eyes look puffy and heavy?
- Scan your body. Does your skin have a healthy glow?
- Follow your arms down to your hands. Stop at your fingertips. Are your nails healthy and shiny, or have they been looking dull and brittle?
- Make your way to your midsection. Are you carrying extra weight? Do you retain water in ebbs and flows within a day or from day to day?
- Now trace each of your legs down to your knees and feet. Can you stand still without wobbling, or do you need to hold on to steady yourself?
The outside of our bodies acts like a mirror. It reflects what is happening within.
Whatever you experience happens first on an energetic level. If the stagnation is not addressed and resolved, it starts to fester and creates bigger problems—things that you may see in the mirror or feel in your body.
Each of these “symptoms” are messages from the body. By sending you eye bags, brittle nails, or even extra weight, your body is telling you that something is energetically off. By tuning in to your body, you can begin to read the messages it is sending. And once you understand, you can respond by giving yourself some TLC: rest to recover, eating for healing to support, and Qigong practice to rebuild.
