The Four Levels of Qi and Women’s Health
Everyone experiences imbalance. In many people, it manifests as illness and disease. But there are different ways to see health. We must move to the level of Qi to go beyond illness and disease and discover life.
Balance and harmony are the keys to health and happiness. Focusing on health means understanding the power behind the invisible and how it manifests.
What Is Qi?
Qi has four levels—power, information, consciousness, and Universal life. Power is energy. Do you have the energy to walk, talk, think clearly, take on new tasks, and feel strong? Do you look good, and can you stand up straight? These are forms of power.
Behind power is information. The information comes from your genetic code and Nature. It’s who you are, where you are, when you are. For example, you may be at a stage in life where emotions are stressful. This information affects your power.
The third level is consciousness—the wisdom behind Qi and what makes it so unique. It’s not mental processing, or what your mind is thinking. It has purpose. An artist creates music that can make you feel happy, sad, or want to dance. At the holidays, family and friends come together to share not only a meal but also the consciousness of gratitude.
Fourth is Universal life. When you say you have Qi, it means you have Universal life inside of you. Your body is the physical image or sign of Universal life. When you practice Qigong, Universal life is running through your body. All of Chinese medicine defines a human being as Universal Qi combined with earth energy that manifests to create a human being. You have Universal life running through you. You are part of Nature. You are part of the Universe. Nothing is separate.
Applying Qi to Women’s Health
The four parts of Qi allow us to see a more profound system at work. This gift of transformation can be applied in many different areas to create emotional and physical balance. The menstrual cycle represents this picture on another level. From this angle we can understand more about a woman’s special ability to transform Qi.
The menstrual cycle is a natural system that follows Natural Law. Once a month, a woman’s body manifests the energy needed to turn Qi into Blood. The invisible becomes visible. Think about all of this energy processing. Women transform a lot of energy in their lifetime. Even though Blood gets released, it continues to renew itself each month with Nature’s support.
Your menstrual cycle can be one of the best ways of knowing how healthy you are. Pain, headaches, lower back pain, and other symptoms are signs your body isn’t meeting the requirements of Natural Law. It’s a natural way of knowing whether your body is in tune or needs a tune-up.
If you conceive, your system transforms to the next level that allows other systems to function and prepare your body to create a new organ, the placenta, and to digest and produce milk from food. You take the best quality of Qi from any food to nourish life.
In traditional Chinese medicine, menstruation is called the moon cycle. The moon is associated with the invisible category, too, and can help us see the relationships behind women’s health. Blood is associated with water. The Earth is 70 percent water, and so is the human body. Every full moon
affects the water on Earth. The body reacts in a similar manner. Qi is associated with both the visible and invisible. Both categories can be used to diagnose and understand which level of the body’s health to address.
Menopause is the end of the menstrual cycle and part of the natural transition system that is built into a woman’s body. Hot flashes, night sweats, palpitations, and fatigue are not necessary. A healthy body will go through this transition naturally, smoothly, and without any symptoms when in accordance with Natural Law.
