FIG AND PEAR OATMEAL

Like the pineapple, figs are not a single fruit but a group of berries that fuse together as they ripen. From a healing perspective, the fig connects to the Lung and Large Intestine, and most importantly they have a long growing time, which gives the fig a positive Qi impact.

 8 figs (dried or fresh)
 2 whole cloves
 1/2 cup oats
 Salt
 1 pear

Boil the dried figs and cloves in 2 cups boiling water, until the figs are soft (about 10 minutes). Add a pinch of salt.

When the figs are soft, transfer them to a dish to cool. Add the oats into the boiling water.

Chop the pear and add it to the pot with the oats. Stir and serve with figs to top!
