
BARLEY CEREAL WITH DATES AND ALMONDS
We suggest Barley cereal as a staple in your diet. This warming combination supports the digestive system, nourishes Qi and Blood, gently moves dampness, and promotes regular bowel movement.
1 Cup of Chinese barley, rinsed
5 Cups of water
Handful of dates, chopped
Handful of slivered almonds

Add the barley to a pot of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, checking after 10 minutes to ensure the water has not evaporated; add more water as needed.

Cook to your preferred consistency—either a soupy cereal or one with the water fully absorbed.

Spoon into a bowl and top with dates and almonds.
Reserve the extra barley for subsequent meals.
