STEAMED ASPARAGUS WITH GARLIC

Yields1 Serving
 ½ pound of asparagus ends trimmed and cut diagonally into ½ inch slices
 1 clove of garlic, finely diced
 1 ½ teaspoons of fresh ginger, finely diced
 1 Tablespoon of walnut or grapeseed oil
 Dash of salt
 ¾ teaspoon of mushroom seasoning
 ½ teaspoon of Chinese cooking wine (or sherry)
 Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Steam asparagus for 1-2 minutes, until bright green and crunchy. Remove from steamer and rinse under cold water, drain well.

Heat oil in heavy skillet or wok until hot, add salt, ginger, and garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Add asparagus and mushroom seasoning and stir for 30 seconds, then add cooking wine, stirring until well-coated.

Add salt to taste if desired.

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top for extra Kidney benefit!
