While COVID-19 has swept the globe, and life as we knew it has temporarily changed, the human spirit is strong! Life will continue. Grand Master Lu reminds us that every event provides opportunities to learn and that health is a dynamic part of life. “Life is magic. Health is dynamic. It is true we need a strong immune system, but it is not the whole truth. We also need to see what the immune system represents?  Simply put, it is the result of your body, mind, and Spirit working as one.”

Find inner-calm

Inner peace is what natural healing looks like. When you’re at peace, your Qi flows and your Spirit is content. When your Spirit is peaceful, your entire internal environment is balanced and in harmony. Health is therefore the by product.

Practice Spirit Gate Breathing

Meditation to calm your mind and connect to your ancestral wisdom.

  • Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes.
  • Focus your breath on your navel. Gently and deeply breath in. When you breath in you pull in at your navel.
  • Then gently breath out, pushing out from your navel.  Once you have the feel for this technique, hold your breath on the inhalation for five seconds.
  • Breath in, hold 1-2-3-4-5. Breath out, 1-2-3-4-5. Repeat.

Foods to support immune health.

Eating out is not an option so it’s a great time to test out your cooking skills! Try some creative soups with ingredients you have. Here are some easy recipes.

Nourish your digestive system!

  • Eat warming foods like soups, and baked apples.
  • Include more spices such as cinnamon, black pepper.
  • Ginger is a must! Include it in your tea and meals.
  • Include honey, a powerful source of energy healing.

What to do if you feel sick

First and foremost, don’t panic. Rest and allow your body time to heal.

  • If you have a sore throat, add more honey and mint to your tea.
  • If you have chills, add more ginger. Hint: add thinly sliced pieces of ginger to boiling water. Allow the ginger to steep for 10 minutes.
  • Make your body perspire.
    • Include more warming spices such as cinnamon.
    • Take a hot bath.
  • Cover-up to keep yourself warm.
  • Drink more tea or coffee to increase urination.

Helping your children

Help kids express their feelings and connect to people that support them.  Ask them to write a letter to their teachers, or grandparents.

Tap into their creative side, and makeup stories that project into the future with happy endings.

Strengthen their bodies by doing the following.

  • Practice the First Energy Gate shown above. It’s the web between the thumb and the index finger. Gently massage this area, on each side, for several minutes.
  • With both hands make large circles on the belly area.
  • Ask your children to lay down and make circles down their spines.  Start from the top of the neck to the base of their spines.
