Have Your Heard? Apricots have been used as a healing food for thousands of years!

Apricots pack a powerful punch when it comes to supporting the body against Heart disease. TCM practices use food as medicine, and apricots are no exception. These super fruits are often prescribed to reduce thirst, lower high blood pressure, calm coughs, and lessen the symptoms of asthma. They also help detoxify the blood and fight against cancer.

Many cultures have long recognized the medicinal qualities of this sweet-sour tasting fruit. Native to either China or the ancient Greeks, this fruit was a staple and was eaten fresh, dried and cooked.

In modern cultures, apricots are found in sweet and savory dishes alike. They taste delicious when diced and cooked with coconut milk into rice and are equally mouthwatering when baked into a sweet summer pie. Another way to welcome in the summer sun is to drink a delicious apricot smoothie.

  1. Mangoes seem a lot like apricots to me. Are they energetically related?

    • They both help with body fluids and aid in coughs and support cardio health. Mangoes are particularly good for digestion. Enjoy that sweet yellow fruit!
